Allergies and Smoke

In this blog we will talk about how wildfire smoke affects people with allergies.  Wildfire smoke has tiny particulate matter that is usually full of toxic chemicals, this smoke exacerbates our respiratory tract.  It is important for allergy sufferers to monitor the current air quality and try as much as they can to minimize their outdoor exposure.

You can find your current air quality at Purple.com.

Allergy sufferers can use air purifiers to remove allergens from their home.  It is important to keep your home free of pet dander, mold and dust as well.  Proper ventilation reduces humidity and prevents mold from growing. Cigarette smoke has chemicals that irritate the respiratory system too, which leads to coughing and wheezing.

If your allergies from smoke or other causes are holding you back from enjoying life, Dr. Gary Buxa and Dr. Richard Bergstrom have a very successful Allergy Clinic that provides our patients with treatment options that can greatly give you back your quality of life.
